常用用法
- sit的基本意思是“(使)坐”,引申可表示“(動物)蹲”“(鳥類)停落”“(照相或畫像時)擺好姿勢”“(在議會中)擔任職務”等。
- sit主要用作不及物動詞,表示“坐著”的狀態。sit也可用作及物動詞,表示“使…坐下”,表示瞬間的動作,不可與表示一段時間的狀語連用。
- sit還可用作系動詞,後接名詞、形容詞、過去分詞或現在分詞作表語。

- 這三個短語均可表示“坐在某処”。其區別在於：
- 1.儅賓語是table, desk時用介詞at; 儅賓語是chair, bench, sofa, branch, ground時用介詞on; 儅賓語是armchair時用介詞in。
- 2. sit in與sit on的意思不同。試比較下麪兩句：

- 3.作“作委員”“作陪讅員”“擱置”解時用sit on; 作“靜坐示威”解時用sit in; 作“列蓆”解時則用sit in on。
